What Is Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus?

Curodont is an advanced treatment for early, non-cavitated cavities—areas where tooth decay has begun, but the tooth has not yet developed a traditional open cavity.Instead of removing tooth structure with a dental drill, Curodont uses a biomimetic peptide technology that penetrates the early lesion and forms a framework that attracts naturally occurring calcium and phosphate from saliva, supporting mineral formation within the weakened enamel.

The goal is simple: treat decay earlier while preserving as much of your natural tooth as possible.

Benefits of Curodont

For the right patient and the right type of early cavity, Curodont offers several advantages:

  • No drilling
  • No needles
  • No traditional filling material
  • Non-invasive treatment
  • Helps preserve healthy, natural tooth structure
  • Quick and comfortable application
  • Can be used for both children and adults
  • Can treat qualifying early decay on multiple tooth surfaces

How Does Curodont Work?

Helping Your Tooth Repair from Within

Traditional fluoride treatments primarily work at the tooth’s surface. Curodont is designed to diffuse into the depth of an early carious lesion. Its peptide technology forms a biomatrix within the affected area, helping attract calcium and phosphate from saliva to support the remineralization of weakened enamel.

Treatment is completed in the dental office and is designed to be quick, non-invasive, and comfortable.

Is Curodont Right for Every Cavity?

Curodont is intended specifically for early-stage, non-cavitated tooth decay. Once a cavity has progressed to the point that significant tooth structure has been lost or an open cavity has formed, a traditional restoration may still be necessary.

Our dental team will evaluate your teeth and determine whether Curodont, fluoride treatment, monitoring, a filling, or another treatment is the best option for your smile.

Curodont for Kids

A Gentler Option for Early Cavities

Discovering a cavity in your child’s smile does not always mean they need a traditional filling. Curodont can be used on qualifying early cavities in both primary (baby) and permanent teeth, making it an especially exciting option for children who may feel nervous about dental treatment.

When appropriate, Curodont allows us to address early decay without a drill or needle, while helping preserve your child’s natural tooth structure.

Early Detection Can Mean Simpler Treatment

The earlier tooth decay is identified, the more options we may have to treat it conservatively. Regular dental exams allow our team to identify changes in the enamel before decay progresses into a larger cavity requiring more extensive treatment.

At Pleasanton Dental Specialists, our goal is not simply to treat cavities—it is to help protect healthy tooth structure whenever possible while providing comfortable, modern dental care for children and adults throughout Pleasanton and the surrounding South Texas communities.
